These terms apply when online enrollment opens. An inquiry alone does not create a subscription or charge.
Price and introductory offer
Membership is $12 when you join. The next full calendar month is complimentary. Recurring $12 payments begin on the first day of the following month and continue on each first until canceled. Dates use Abilene’s Central Time. For example, join in September, receive October free, and begin monthly renewals November 1. There is no separate signup fee. The introductory offer is for a new business membership, not repeated cancel-and-rejoin cycles.
Approval comes first for publication
We review applications as soon as possible and verify business ownership and eligibility. Paying does not guarantee approval or publish a listing automatically. If we decline your application, we stop future renewals and refund the full first payment. Bank processing times may vary. Please contact us before paying again if your checkout result is unclear.
What membership includes
An approved Local Spotlight profile includes a business story, images reviewed by the editor, practical visit details, priority placement among matching directory results, and a private business desk for submitting news, offers and events. Matching Spotlight listings sort alphabetically with one another, followed by general listings alphabetically. Membership does not buy an editorial endorsement or guarantee search-engine rankings, traffic or sales. Every public update requires approval.
Canceling and payment problems
You can cancel future renewals in the secure billing portal linked from your membership page. Canceling renewal keeps your current access through its paid-through date; it does not itself request a refund. Email us about a billing concern. If a renewal cannot be collected, paid access ends when the paid-through period expires. Please keep your billing email and payment method current.
After paid access ends, an eligible business with a verified Abilene address may remain as a free basic listing without Spotlight benefits. A business outside Abilene leaves the public directory when paid access ends. Your account and billing records are not erased by canceling.
Founding businesses
Existing founding profiles are complimentary. Verified owners can claim access without entering payment information. Every ownership claim and public change is reviewed.
Your information
Use accurate details that you have permission to publish. Account contact information and membership records remain private. Stripe processes payments and manages billing details under its own privacy terms. We do not store card numbers. We use your account email for payment, application and service messages—not automatic marketing enrollment. See how the guide handles submissions and activity information.
